The surgical knee procedures available at the White Rock Orthopaedic Surgery Centre are:
- Refers to any knee repair done using arthroscopy (a 4 mm telescope on the end of a fiber-optic cable). It entails several small holes in the knee and is the least intrusive of procedures.
(also called UniKnee, Oxford Knee or Partial Knee Replacement)
- Unicompartmental (one side) knee replacement is a technique that replaces a small part of the knee with an artificial component such as the Oxford Knee. It is less invasive than traditional methods using a smaller incision and allowing a faster recovery time.
